Accomplishments

His accomplishment is and is manifested in many different ways right from action research with scientific rigour to develop body of knowledge, mission to work with the indigenous tribal community to facilitate appropriate social change, as a trainer who have conducted highest number of IFS officers as well as training for the community resource persons and developed outstanding models of Climate Change Adaptable Sustainable Livelihoods, which introduces its own innovations for productivity and well-being of the community… 

As a trainer in the field of human resource development, he has demonstrated a continuing record of scholarly contribution in the training of Indian Forest Service Officials since 1991 and influence in the field of conservation and sustainable livelihood for the rural-based community, tribal in particular

The significant contributions to the development of new body of knowledge in operationalizing the ‘ Participatory Biodiversity Management and   “Integrated Landscape Management for  Sustainable Livelihood’,  evidenced by citations of published works and outcomes in different states in the field itself.

  • One can find an indelible mark on the demonstrated models since its inception, the transforming the of sustainable livelihood practices in the tribal landscape in three districts, Bankura, Purulia and Jhargram of West Bengal, Hazaribagh in Jharkhand and Dhamtari in Chhattisgarh.
  • With his far-sighted vision with application of scientific concepts and managerial skills helped in participatory strategic planning, particularly to involve the grass root community,  and helped in promoting a climate change adaptable sustainable livelihood practices where biodiversity and water conservation helped in organic farming that further helped agriculture waste converted into organic manure as a valuable resource to improve soil health.
  • With his expertise and experience, many training modules are prepared and implemented for the senior level government functionaries including the Indian Forest Officers at one hand and the community resource persons on the other. Several projects like Green India Mission, Sustainable Agriculture, Mission: Jal-Jami O Jeevika from the concept to operationalization are being implemented. His forward-thinking approaches and practices helped IBRAD to be the Centre of Excellence under the Ministry Of Tribal Affairs, Government Of India as leader in  Tribal Research Centre.
